Iranian President Hassan Rouhani took to Twitter to wish Merry Christmas to his more than 280,000 followers.
“May Jesus Christ, Prophet of peace & love, bless us all on this day. Wishing Merry #Christmas to those celebrating,” Rouhani tweeted.
Rouhani is considered less bombastic than his predecessor as president, though most of the shots in the Islamic Republic are called by Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
