GOP groups spend $3 million on Democrat-leading House races

Two Republican groups are dropping millions into seven House races with just weeks left until the midterm elections.

The American Action Network and the Congressional Leadership Fund plans to spend $3.2 million in the states where Democrats are currently in office or favored to win, according to the Wall Street Journal.

“The new investments speak to the quality of our candidates nationwide and the expanding opportunities for House Republicans in deep Democrat-held territory,” American Action spokesman Dan Coston said.

Though Republicans currently hold a House majority and are at no risk of losing it, if they gain 12 more seats, they will match their post-World War II high for House members.

House races in Hawaii, New York, Illinois, Massachusetts, Iowa, Minnesota and Florida will be targeted.
