Miss California stars in new anti-gay marriage ad

Miss California Carrie Prejean is not done speaking out on her belief that marriage should be between only a man and a woman – she appeared in Washington Thursday to announce she’s staring in the latest commercial for the National Organization for Marriage (NOM).

The “No Offense” ad -– a name take from Prejean’s reply at the Miss USA pageant when she stated, “No offense to anybody out there but that’s how I was raised” -– makes the claim that the real “bigots” are those not tolerant of religious beliefs.

The ad features a clip from her response at the April 19, 2009 pageant, one of judge Perez Hilton (who posed the gay marriage question), and one from Human Rights Campaign activist Joe Solmonese’s appearance on MSNBC where he states that organizations like NOM make progress by “lying.”

Prejean answered very few questions at the National Press Club. She refused to comment on Thursday’s confirmation that the Miss California Organization paid for her to get breast implants two weeks prior to the pageant.  However, she did tell reporters, “I never expected entering a beauty contest would lead to this. … I’m not being politically correct but Biblically correct.”

Any chance we can plan on seeing her more in Washington? “That’s a silly question,” Prejean responded when asked if she will become more active in politics. “No, I don’t plan on it.”
