Actress Nicole Kidman says it’s time for Americans to get over their hang-ups and accept Donald Trump as the next president of the United States.
“Whatever, however that happened, he’s there and let’s go,” Kidman, who holds dual citizenship in America and Australia, told the BBC.
Kidman has stayed relatively quiet about her political views in the past, but did post a photo with her husband on Election Day wearing an “I voted” sticker. She is also a U.N. goodwill ambassador, focused on women’s issues.
“I would just say he’s now elected and we as a country need to support whoever the president is, because that’s what the country’s based on,” Kidman said.
Kidman’s comments are a break with most of her outspoken Hollywood peers. Most recently, Meryl Streep this week used her Golden Globes speech to deliver a warning about Trump.
