$1,700.01: How much the priciest item went for at last week’s auction of the Hawk ‘n’ Dove’s contents. One customer paid the amount for the Capitol Hill bar’s “capacity” sign, which lists how many patrons were permitted in the bar and notes the dive bar’s address. The Hawk ‘n’ Dove closed earlier this month after changing hands. A higher-end version of the establishment will open sometime next year, with the same name. In the meantime, fans of the bar were able to buy the Hawk’s signs, wooden ducks, stained glass windows, bar stools, tables, televisions and much, much more at an online auction that ended Friday.
