Airman arrested for assault at Trump rally in Tucson

The man seen kicking and punching a protester at a Donald Trump rally over the weekend is an airman at a base in Tucson, according to reports.

He is at least the second military-connected Trump supporter to be involved in a violent episode at an event for the GOP presidential front-runner.

Tony Pettway, an airman at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, allegedly kicked and punched a protester before being escorted out of the rally before being detained by police, Tucson News Now reported.

He was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of assault with injury, the report said. A public affairs officer at the base told the news outlet that the service was cooperating with authorities and would “take appropriate action.”

In the first incident, Joshua Pryor participated in the assault of a young black woman at a rally this month. The Marine Corps discharged him from the Delayed Entry Program as a result of the incident.

Reince Priebus, the chairman of the Republican National Committee, on Sunday urged Trump’s supporters to let security handle protesters instead of taking matters into his own hands.
