It’s not that Hollywood doesn’t like President Obama. After all, many stars either stumped for him or helped his fundraising efforts in 2008.
But there has been some grumbling in Tinseltown says Politico, showing how some supporters aren’t so crazy about Obama these days, including Matt Damon, who told Piers Morgan last month the president has “misinterpreted his mandate” with voters. Barbara Streisand, who told Larry King in December she was “a little” disappointed with his leadership on “dont’ ask, don’t tell.”
Even Sean “Diddy” Combs has had some (constructively) critical words for the commander in chief in this month’s Source Magazine, where he said: “I love the president like most of us. I just want the president to do better. There’s a difference between us voting for somebody and us believing in somebody.”
But is all this breakup talk true? Would Oprah Winfrey – for instance – turn her back on Obama in 2012? Certainly not, said her reps earlier this month. And as for the rest of Hollywood, political consultant Andy Spahn said it would be unlikely for the region to suddenly swing conservative, calling the notion that Obama won’t enjoy significant Hollywood support in 2012 “completely untrue.”
