The State Department announced Wednesday that about a dozen U.S. citizens were injured in Tuesday’s terrorist attacks in Belgium.
To the State Department’s current knowledge, no U.S. citizens were killed.
“At this time, we are aware of approximately a dozen U.S. citizens injured in the attacks,” State said in a statement.
“We are not aware of any U.S. citizen deaths,” State said. “We must emphasize that a number of U.S. citizens remain unaccounted for.”
State said Belgium has not released any information on the nationality of reported fatalities yet. It also said the U.S. government is conducting its own investigation, which is “ongoing.”
