Avoiding the endless wait for Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of D.C.” to air (thanks, Salahis), “Top Chef: Washington, D.C.” is coming soon.
The last of the chefs and crew packed up their knives last week, and the show is slated to start June 16 with a slew of local cameos.
Buzz Aldrin will appear on the show, and so will House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, White House chef Sam Kass, Rep. Aaron Schock, R-Ill., Sen. Mark Warner, D-Va., CIA Director Leon Panetta, MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough and NBC White House Correspondent Savannah Guthrie.
And, among the newest crop of “Cheftestants,” two have local ties. Timothy Dean is a graduate of Howard University, lives in Baltimore and plans to open Prime Steak House in D.C. this summer. Also competing is Tamesha Warren, who is the sous chef at D.C.’s Oval Room.
