Former governor Jeb Bush appeared on CNN’s “State of the Union” with host Jake Tapper to respond again to remarks from rival Donald Trump that his brother, former President George W. Bush, was to blame for the 9/11 attacks.
“My brother responded to a crisis and did it as you would hope a president would do,” Bush said. “He kept us safe and united the country. There’s no denying that. The majority of americans believe that. I don’t know why he keeps bringing it up.”

“I think we need a president with a steady hand,” he added.
Jeb continued that he had “grave doubts” about Jeb’s readiness to be commander-in-chief, when asked about a new television ad he released lampooning Trump.
“I don’t think Trump’s going to win the nomination,” Bush said.
“I don’t see any evidence that he’s not going to get the nomination,” Tapper said, rebuffing him, pointing to Trump’s consistent lead in most polls, nationally and in the states.
On Hillary Clinton and her debate performance, Bush said, “She looked beatable … she did a good job in the debate for sure,” but that she would only offer “more taxes, more regulation. more barriers for people’s abilities to rise up,” and “manage the decline.”
Finally, he was asked about tough remarks his campaign spokesman made about Marco Rubio, Bush’s onetime political ally.
“Your spokesmen had a harsh comment about Marco Rubio. Tim Miller tweeted, quote, ‘Lying about budgets? I guess Marco picked up something in the senate.’ Them’s fighting words,” Tapper said.
“Yeah, I’m not into all that,” not necessarily standing up for the tone of his spokesman.
“Indeed, he kind of misled people about his fundraising results. That’s fine. Look, the process part of this is not my motivation to run,” Bush added.
