– Musician James Taylor’s opening remark upon entering the Time Warner Arena for his performance Thursday afternoon at the Democratic National Convention. Taylor vowed to sit on the chair instead of talking to it. He began his set with “Carolina on my Mind,” and said, upon finishing the geographically appropriate tune, “I’m an old white guy and I love Barack Obama.”
