Trump: Rubio’s team is ‘desperate,’ ‘angry’

Donald Trump is refusing to let Marco Rubio heal from his tough Super Tuesday losses, and blasted Rubio on Twitter Wednesday over his voting record and claimed the Florida senator’s “bosses” are upset with him.

“Marco Rubio lost big last night. I even beat him in Virginia, where he spent so much time and money,” Trump tweeted in the afternoon. “Now his bosses are desperate and angry!”

Trump ferociously attacked Rubio earlier this week after the first-term senator described the real estate mogul as a “con man” and questioned his manhood by calling attention to his unusually small hands. Trump now refuses to refer to Rubio without first attaching the word “little” or “lightweight” to his name, and has repeatedly accused him of having “the worst record in the U.S. Senate.”

Rubio finished a close second behind Trump in Virginia on Tuesday, he won Minnesota and essentially tied for second in two other states. The Florida Republican carries just 106 delegates to Trump’s 316 and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz’s 226, and is banking on a huge win in Florida to justify his decision to remain in the race.

But Trump, who carries a 20-point lead over Rubio in state-level polls of Florida Republicans, claims his opponent will underperform in his home state.

Trump and Rubio are both slated to speak at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference this Saturday in National Harbor, Md. The two candidates are also likely to strongly criticize each other during the eleventh GOP debate Thursday in Detroit, Mich., which will air live on Fox News at 9 p.m. ET.
