Merriam-Webster took a not-so-subtle jab at United Airlines Monday evening after a man was forcibly remvoved from one its flights Monday for refusing to give up his seat on an overbooked plane.
“‘Volunteer’ means ‘someone who does something without being forced to do it,'” Merriam Webster tweeted with a photo of an airplane.

The airline is facing stiff criticism after three security guards were called and one of them threw the man, who said he was a doctor, into an armrest before putting him on the floor.
United has since apologized for the incident but it has not quelled the outcry on social media.
