After addressing reporters on Capitol Hill on Wednesday, “Private Practice” actress Kate Walsh had lunch at the Monocle on Capitol Hill with Olympic swimmer Aaron Peirsol and folks from the group Oceana. She and Peirsol were in town talking about clean energy on the anniversary of the Gulf oil spill. She had the blue crab cakes. Also on Wednesday night, a nice mix of athletes and media peeps came out to the Venga launch party at Fiola. Guests included Washington Nationals’ third baseman Ryan Zimmerman, Pro Football Hall of Famer Darrell Green, NBC’s David Gregory, ABC’s Jonathan Karl, CNN’s Ed Henry, Fox News’ Chris Wallace and “Top Chef: All Stars’ ” Mike Isabella. Venga is a D.C.-based startup that uses mobile technology to connect restaurants with consumers.
