MSNBC “Morning Joe” host Mika Brzezinski blew up on her own show Tuesday morning for analyzing the latest news on Donald Trump’s campaign, which she said is pointless to do anymore because the candidate is “a guy who means nothing.”
Brzezinski, a self-described Democrat, said Trump, who is scheduled to deliver a speech clarifying his policy positions on immigration this week, is undoing the Republican Party with his campaign for the White House and that her show should stop taking him seriously.
“Aren’t they losing everything right now? Look at their candidate. Look at this conversation. We’re talking about nothing,” she said. “We’re talking about a guy who means nothing, who says nothing, who has no opinions. We’re talking about a speech that will probably end up being something that he doesn’t mean and we’re pretending to try and translate strategy out of it. That’s your party. That’s your leader. Do you have something to lose by sticking by this? I mean down the line, I think you do. … We’re just pretending to make up analysis out of stupidity.”
Brzezinski has spent the last several weeks attacking Trump on air, and the candidate has often responded on Twitter. Last week, Trump referred to Brzezinski as “crazy Mika” and he has jabbed at the show’s ratings, which are consistently behind its competitors on Fox News and often bested by CNN.
In another tweet last week, Trump suggested he had personally damaging information regarding Brzezinski and her “Morning Joe” co-host Joe Scarborough.
“Some day, when things calm down, I’ll tell the real story of [Scarborough] and his very insecure long-time girlfriend, [Brzezinski],” the tweet said. “Two clowns!”
