Larry King gives Jon Stewart a porta-potty

Arianna Huffington may be bringing the buses, Oprah may be bringing the audience, but Larry King, well, he’s got at least one toilet taken care of.

On Wednesday’s “Larry King Live,” King gave Jon Stewart a single brown porta-potty for his Oct. 30 rally on the National Mall. The unveiling was dramatic, complete with girls, spotlights and a curtain.

“There it is,” King said beaming, as the curtain dropped. “The first potty for the rally and our executive producer almost used it.”

Stewart’s response?

“Please tell me that is not the capsule that they keep you in.”

Stewart promised to mark the porta-potty as King’s, though King said he and the CNN staff were not responsible for cleaning and upkeep.

“So this is merely just the facility,” Stewart said.

Another gem of a quote was King’s segue.

“That’s a perfect symbol though, isn’t it, of the elections this year.” To which Stewart replied: “The porta-potty? … It’s an enclosed place where people urinate? … I’m missing your metaphor.”
