Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has rented out a space at an Iowa movie theater to show voters the new Benghazi movie for free.
“Mr. Trump would like all Americans to know the truth about what happened at Benghazi,” the GOP presidential candidate’s Iowa co-chair Tana Goertz said Thursday night.
Trump will give voters free tickets to see “13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi,” the movie about the deadly Sept. 11, 2012, attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya.
The Michael Bay-directed movie opens nationwide Friday. It reportedly makes no mention of then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who has faced most of the backlash from Republicans for her response to the deadly attacks.
“The theater is paid for. The tickets are paid for. You just have to RSVP,” Goertz said.
The screening will take place at 6 p.m. local time Friday at the Carmike Cobblestone 9 Theater in Urbandale, Iowa, the Des Moines Register reported.
Trump arrives in Iowa with three weeks to go until the first-in-the-nation caucuses at 10 a.m. for a campaign rally at Living History Farms in Urbandale. The latest Des Moines Register/Bloomberg Politics Iowa Poll shows Trump trailing Texas Sen. Ted Cruz by three points.
