Ruth Bader Ginsburg has minor heart surgery

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg underwent minor heart surgery Wednesday morning and is expected to recover.

Ginsburg was taken to MedStar Washington Hospital Center on Tuesday evening after complaining of discomfort during a routine exercise, said a statement from the Supreme Court’s Public Information Office. Doctors discovered a coronary blockage and placed a stent in her right artery.

She is resting comfortably and is expected to be discharged within 48 hours, the Supreme Court said.
