While millions of people are reveling on the Mall at noon on Tuesday, a much smaller — yet arguably more exclusive — group will have a social event of their own. A lucky bunch of current and former administration officials and other Bush supporters have been invited to Andrews Air Force Base on Tuesday morning for a “Departure Ceremony” in honor of the president and first lady.
Not everyone is biting, however. “I don’t have the heart to tell them I will be at the swearing In ceremony for Obama!” said one former senior administration official who was invited.
