Actor Chris Evans will be stopping by the White House to promote his civic engagement platform and talking to dozens of high school seniors.
The Captain America star will join actor Mark Kassen, who co-founded the civic engagement website A Starting Point, on Tuesday morning for a livestreamed event at the White House to participate in a discussion with high school students about the economy and climate action.
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm, Deputy Treasury Secretary Wally Adeyemo, and White House Office of Public Engagement head Steve Benjamin will join the youth engagement discussion.
Evans, PEOPLE’s 2022 “sexiest man alive,” spoke with Kassen at the National Press Club on Monday about his civic engagement platform, which claims to be bipartisan in providing “the information behind the issues.”
“Young people know are more and more aware of the proliferation of social media and aware of selective facts and the framing of information,” he said.
During a talk at the National Press Club, Evans insisted that although he has been open about his politics, the “nature of the site” is to be bipartisan.
The website features explainers about various issues including the rise of antisemitism, canceling student loans, red flag gun laws, and right-to-work laws.
