Donald Trump on Monday took aim at President Obama, contrasting business deals he’s brokered over the years with the Obama administration’s release of five Taliban warriors from Guantanamo Bay in exchange for disgraced Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl in 2014.
In a 15-second video uploaded to his Instagram account, the New York businessman showed news coverage of the Bergdahl-Taliban exchange, and the words “Obama’s deals,” appear on the screen. Then the video displays several images of skyscrapers and the famous Mar-a-Lago estate owned by the billionaire.
“It’s time for a president who understands the art of the deal,” the screen reads, playing off the title of Trump’s 1987 New York Times best-seller.
Trump, who continues to lead the GOP field nationally and in New Hampshire, has previously targeted Obama on Instagram with videos that mock his handling of the Islamic State and his decision to end a White House press conference early to see “Star Wars.”
