Salahis have gone suddenly shy

Who knew that infamous White House gatecrashers Tareq and Michaele Salahi would be so averse to publicity?

Yeas & Nays reporter Tara Palmeri stopped by their home Sunday (after repeated messages to the couple) for an interview. Palmeri rang the doorbell twice, left a note and took photos of the door plaque that tells visitors they are being video and audio recorded.

On Tuesday morning, Palmeri received an e-mail from the ominously named “Legal” asking her “Where [sic] you trespassing at the Salahi private property Farm House on May 30?” When Palmeri responded with a link to a Tuesday Yeas & Nays item, she received a 316-word response from the even more ominous “Security Services” calling her “unstable” and saying she “knowingly violated the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia.” The e-mail also included pictures of Palmeri taken by Security Services’ cameras.

She’s also been told her reporting is a violation of several “Codes of Virginia.”

We’ll keep that in mind the next time the Salahis, in search of the elusive 16th minute of fame, show up at the grand opening of an envelope with the 20-member camera crew from their reality show.
