Trump on Islamic State: ‘Knock the hell out of them’

Presidential candidate Donald Trump laid out his strategy to defeat the Islamic State on Tuesday morning: “Take the oil, knock the hell out of them.”

Trump advocated putting U.S. boots on the ground and said a key part of defeating the terrorist group is cutting off its flow of money and funds derived from oil sales.

“I didn’t want to go there in the first place, but now we take the oil. We should have kept the oil, now we go in, we knock the hell out of them, take their oil. We thereby take their wealth,” Trump said in an interview with “Fox and Friends.”

He also said the U.S. must stop the Islamic State’s use of the Internet to recruit people, including some Americans, to join the group’s extremist fight.

“They have so much money. They have better Internet connections than we do in the United States,” he said.
