Hoyer admits budget-balancing woes

“I don’t think you can get there in ten years. I think it’s going to take a longer time [because] we’ve dug such a deep hole.”

House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer during his weekly press briefing on Tuesday, noting his disappointment that President Obama’s latest budget proposal won’t balance the budget in ten years. It may not even achieve a balanced budget in 20 years, as the president’s 20-year estimates are based on revenues from a more robust economy than the current one.
