Jeb Bush is unveiling a new fundraising program to accompany the expected launch of his presidential campaign on June 15 that is asking volunteer bundlers to raise $27,000 by the end of the month.
As a part of his “27 in FIFTEEN” program, the former two-term Florida governor also has scheduled a new slate of fundraisers across the country, with events planned for Washington on June 19; Coral Gables, Fla., on June 20; Tampa and Jacksonville, in Florida, on June 22; Orlando, Fla., and Greenwich, Conn., on June 23; New York and Chicago on June 24; Houston and Dallas on June 25; Atlanta on June 29; and Falmouth, Maine, on July 2.
“Thank you for your commitment to be part of Team Jeb! As we move forward, we would be honored to have your partnership,” Bush campaign national finance director Heather Larrison writes in the donor packet. “Our goal is to provide you with the tools and information you need to ensure the success of your efforts.”
Bush supporters who bundle $27,000, the equivalent of 10 checks each for the federally allowed maximum individual donation of $2,700, during the campaign’s first 15 days will be invited to a special “27 in FIFTEEN” donor retreat in Kennebunkport, Maine, on July 9-10. The packet laying out the program says that “some very special guests” will be attending the retreat in Kennebunkport, where the Bush family maintains a vacation home.
The Maine retreat will include an evening picnic with Bush on July 9 and a campaign briefing with senior Bush strategists on July 10.
Bundlers who qualify for the retreat also get to participate in a conference call with Bush and receive other benefits. To qualify to attend the retreat, a bundler’s $27,000 must be received by the campaign no later than June 30. To ensure accurate tracking of donations, each bundler who signs up for the program will be given a tracking number to put on contributions.
