Trump team reschedules New York Times meeting

President-elect Trump and his team have rescheduled a previously canceled meeting with representatives of the New York Times.

“The meeting is taking place as planned,” a Trump spokeswoman confirmed to reporters in New York at Trump Tower.

The meeting was originally scheduled for Tuesday but then canceled early in the morning, when Trump got on Twitter and accused the Times of attempting to change the ground rules heading into the meeting.

A spokeswoman for the Times disputed that characterization and said the Trump team had not informed the paper directly that it was canceling the meeting.

On the rescheduling of the meeting, a Times spokeswoman said in a statement, “Mr. Trump’s staff has told us that the president-elect’s meeting with the Times is on again. He will meet with our publisher off-the-record and that session will be followed by an on-the-record meeting with our journalists and editorial columnists.”
