Republican presidential Carly Fiorina said the decision by hosts of The View to make fun of her “demented” smile at the last GOP debate shows there’s a double standard in the press when it comes to conservative women.
“Oh you think?” she said on Fox News Sunday. “Yeah, I think there’s a double standard.”
“There is nothing more threatening to the liberal media in general, and to Hillary Clinton in particular, than a conservative woman,” she said. “So of course there’s a double standard.”
“It will not stop me, it will not scare me,” she added.
She said feminists often try to tear apart conservative women who they don’t agree with on specific issues, and seem to believe that “somehow you’re not a woman” if you don’t sign up to their “liberal orthodoxy.” But she said women’s issues go far beyond the narrow set of issues usually put forward by feminists.
“Frankly, I am tired of being insulted by liberal feminists who talk about women’s issues, when the reality is, every issue is a woman’s issue,” she said. “From the economy, to ISIS, to Russia, to health care, to education, to the national debt, women care about all of that.”
“I am going to continue to stand up, stand strong, talk about what I believe in, and I am Hillary Clinton’s worst nightmare as a result,” Fiorina added.
