Clinton to be profiled on PBS ‘American Experience’

Former President Clinton has will be the 16th presidential profile highlighted in the popular PBS show “American Experience” this winter. The program’s executive producer, Mark Samels, calls Clinton a “lightning rod in American history.” “It’s hard to find anyone who is neutral about the man or his presidency. The complex dynamic between his public accomplishments and his personal foibles makes him endlessly fascinating. At ‘American Experience,’ we like to explore the people who have shaped the times in which they live and Bill Clinton, both charismatic and confounding, certainly had a profound effect on the country during his presidency,” he said in a release.

The four-hour-long show will air in two parts and documents Clinton’s childhood in Arkansas, political career and time in the White House, including his affair with Monica Lewinsky. The first part will air on PBS on Feb. 20.
