According to a new document detailing the White House’s list of celebrity surrogates they’d like to see stump for President Obama — with nearly 200 names including will.i.am, Jessica Alba, Jay-Z, George Clooney, and even billionaire investor Warren Buffett. Not everyone on the “Confirmed and Passed Surrogates” list has actually confirmed anything, though, so the White House is describing the roster as more of a “wish list” — and in some cases, they might just be guilty of wishful thinking. A spokesman for The Band Perry said the group — who played for the president at the White House in November – isn’t contracted to promote any political candidates, nor do they plan to. And six-time Grammy Award-winners Lady Antebellum “did not submit their name for inclusion on the surrogate list for Obama’s campaign,” said their publicist, Mary Hilliard Harrington, in a statement, adding, “Your request for confirmation comes as a surprise to me because the band has never commented on their political affiliations nor do they plan to in the future.”
