One local radio host made history Wednesday by being the first ever to broadcast a live show from the Pentagon. D.C. morning radio host Boxer hosted “The Boxer Show” on 98.7 WMZQ there as part of his second annual military appreciation tour.
“There is something about saying, ‘live from the Pentagon,’ that just gives me chills,” Boxer gushed before interviewing Pentagon employees and service members throughout the broadcast.
On his way out, the radio host wasn’t watching where he was going and almost ran right into outgoing Secretary of Defense Robert Gates. “As he walked past, he gave me this smile like, ‘Yes, I’m Robert Gates, thanks for stopping or my Marine body guard would’ve had to take [care] of you,” Boxer noted on his blog.
