Ohio Gov. John Kasich’s negative review of the 1996 Academy Award-winning film “Fargo” came back to haunt him Friday night.
Actor Steve Buscemi, who as part of the movie’s star-studded cast, exacted revenge on the Republican presidential candidate Friday night on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.”
Colbert and Buscemi, who wore a wig to emulate Kasich’s ’90s hair, re-enact the passage from Kasich’s 1996 book Stand for Something in which he recounts, in detail, being horrified by a memorably violent scene in “Fargo.” Kasich was so upset, he wrote, that he campaigned to have the tape taken off the shelves of Blockbuster.
The version of the story told by Buscemi and Colbert, however, has a twist ending, although one that fans of the movie might be able to see coming.
