Actress Glenn Close and her husband David E. Shaw were spotted among the friends waiting outside the entrance of the Newseum Friday to attend the 60th birthday party for John S. Hendricks, the founder and chairman of Discovery Communications. Hendricks turned the big 6-0 on Thursday and was given a surprise gift at the fete, a fully restored 1968 white Chevrolet Camaro. Discovery Communications is based in nearby Silver Spring, Maryland.
