Glenn Beck’s TheBlaze loses plum spot as Dish Satellite, Fox News make up

Things are back to normal for political commentator Glenn Beck and TheBlaze, his growing media empire.

Dish Satellite and Fox News reportedly came to terms Thursday after a weeks-long rift that resulted in Fox News being dropped from the service.

As a temporary replacement, TheBlaze, a conservative news channel, was placed in Fox’s plum channel 205 spot. That was in addition to TheBlaze’s original 212 location, where it is sandwiched between C-Span and the Weather Channel, some distance away from the other livelier cable news channels like MSNBC and CNN.

The dispute between Fox and Dish meant TheBlaze, a still-budding news and opinion channel, picked up Fox viewers in addition to its existing audience.

“I have no idea how long TheBlaze will be on in place of Fox News,” Beck wrote on his Facebook at the time. “But for those of you looking for a channel that shares your values and principles, I hope you will give TheBlaze a chance.”

A Dish spokesperson confirmed to the Washington Examiner media desk that TheBlaze will simply lose its temporary spot at channel 205, which will go back to Fox. TheBlaze will retain its space at channel 212.
