Fiorina confronts condom-throwing Planned Parenthood protesters

GOP presidential candidate Carly Fiorina had a direct confrontation with a group of pro-Planned Parenthood protesters that threw condoms at her Saturday as she attended a tailgate party of an Iowa Hawkeyes game.

A woman who confronted Fiorina identified herself as a Planned Parenthood patient and asked, “As a woman how do you not support our healthcare?”

“Oh I do support your healthcare,” Fiorina replied. “I don’t support the butchery of babies. And you ought to go take a look at those videos… Planned Parenthood has never denied this isn’t going on because they can’t.”

“I want you to support women,” the protester responded.

“I do support women,” said Fiorina. “I understand we may disagree on this, but you need to ask yourself some questions. Why is it that fetuses are aborted alive to butcher their brains? Why? … You ought to look at some facts, how much money does Planned Parenthood give to Democrat candidates? This is a big political rigged game.”

The woman responded by asking how much money Fiorina was receiving “to do the abortion agenda and use lies on Planned Parenthood to win the nomination.”

Fiorina asked her again how much money Planned Parenthood gives to Democrat candidates, which the woman did not know.

A Washington Examiner analysis shows that Planned Parenthood and affiliates spent almost $5 million dollars in election ads promoting Democratic lawmakers in 2014.

As the two spoke pink pom-pom–clad protesters reportedly chanted “Carly Fiorina offsides for telling lies” and threw condoms at her. The protesters were supporters of Planned Parenthood as well as other women’s health organizations.

Fiorina mentioned the incident on “Meet the Press” with Chuck Todd on Sunday, claiming that pro-Planned Parenthood activists are using the federally funded healthcare services to defend against the organization’s unethical abortion practices.

“Here’s the deal. Yesterday, I was protested by Planned Parenthood people who were throwing condoms at me. I don’t know what that has to do with this,” Fiorina said. “They’re trying to distract the American people from the hideous reality that Planned Parenthood is aborting fetuses alive to harvest their brains and other body parts. That is a fact.”

Fiorina has been under increased scrutiny by left-leaning voters for her stance on Planned Parenthood since her comments towards the organization during the second Republican debate. Fiorina expressed extreme disgust towards Planned Parenthood’s alleged illegal harvesting and selling of fetal tissue. The former Hewlett-Packard executive is in favor of removing all federal funding from the organization as well passing pro-life legislation, a stance that puts her in stark contrast to the only other female in the race, democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton.
