Bush book double whammy coming soon

Sure, former Vice President Cheney has been hogging the headlines since the Obama Administration took over, but soon, very soon, a Bush bonanza is set to restart. First lady Laura Bush’s memoir, “Spoken from the Heart,” will arrive on bookshelves next Tuesday from Scribner, a division of Simon & Schuster. And it was announced Monday that President Bush’s book “Decision Points,” will be released Nov. 9 — one week after the midterm elections — from Crown Publishers, a division of Random House.

Monday’s news included the release of the cover illustration for “Decision Points” and new details about what the chapters will contain, including that it will be a “groundbreaking new kind of memoir.”

Why’s that? Instead of straight autobiography, Bush’s book will focus on the 14 most important decisions, or “decision points,” of his life and presidency.

“The former President offers intimate, unprecedented details about his decision to quit drinking, his discovery of faith, and his relationships with his family,” the publisher said in a release. The publishing house also explained Bush’s book was the reason why he’s kept out of the public eye since leaving office, though Cheney is working on a book, as well.
