Carly Fiorina vowed to fight hard against abortion should she become president, speaking Friday at the annual March for Life.
The former Hewlett Packard executive and Republican candidate, who is struggling in her presidential bid, told attendees who braved the chilly weather and impending blizzard that the election is about “restoring the nation’s character.” The next president, Fiorina noted, is likely to replace several Supreme Court justices — a task which could have major bearing on how the court rules on future abortion-related cases.
Fiorina said she’ll be a “fearless fighter” in her address to the crowd, which had gathered on the National Mall before the annual march down Constitution Avenue to the front of the Supreme Court.
“You can bet I will win this fight against Hillary Clinton and you can count on what I will do as president,” Fiorina said. “I will defund Planned Parenthood, I will support pregnancy center around the country, together we will restore the character of our nation. So citizens join with me, stand with me, fight with me.”
Other speakers at the rally included Sen. Joni Ernst, R-Iowa, and Rep. Chris Smith, R-N.J. Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus was also spotted at the rally, chatting with Rep. Steve Pearce, R-N.M.
