The United States and allies carried out 12 airstrikes Saturday against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, the Combined Joint Task Force reported, according to Reuters.
Strikes near Kobani, a Syrian town along the border with Turkey, destroyed Islamic State buildings, vehicles and fighting positions.
Attacks near Al Asad, Mosul, Fallujah, Al Qaim and Baiji in Iraq also destroyed buildings, vehicles and a refinery.
The effort comes after U.S. and allied forces launched 39 strikes against Islamic State targets on Thursday and Friday.
