Trump: Clinton aide shared classified intel with ‘sleazebag’ husband

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump blasted Huma Abedin, one of Hillary Clinton’s closest personal staffers, during a campaign speech Friday, suggesting that she’s shared classified information with her husband former New York congressman Anthony Weiner.

Abedin served as deputy chief of staff to Clinton during her tenure as secretary of state and has become deeply engulfed in the scandal surrounding the Democratic candidate’s private email server. Her husband resigned from the House of Representatives in 2011 following revelations of an extramarital affair.

“So Huma is getting classified secrets [and] she’s married to Anthony Weiner who’s a perv,” Trump told an intimate crowd of donors outside the Massachusetts mansion of business executive Ernie Boch Friday.

“She’s getting confidential documents and guess what happens to Anthony Weiner? A month ago he went to work for a public relations firm,” he exclaimed.

The brash billionaire called Weiner “one of the greatest sleazebags of our time” and questioned whether Abedin’s affection has already or will lead her to share classified intelligence with her husband.

“It’s coming through Huma, she’s got a lot of stuff, a lot of information [and] she’s married to a bad guy,” Trump said. “Do you think there’s even a 5 percent chance that she’s not telling Anthony Weiner, now of a public relations firm, what the hell is coming across?”

“Do you think there’s even a little bit of a chance? I don’t think so,” he added.

Abedin hired a team of lawyers in mid-August to respond to a growing number of requests from the federal officials and congressional investigators after it was revealed that she kept a private account on Clinton’s email server and used it for correspondence related to her top-level position at the State Department.
