Ever want to feel like a major donor to the Clintons? Now’s your chance. As part of Abraham Lincoln’s 200th birthday celebration next February, the Madison hotel will be offering rooms decorated like the Lincoln Bedroom at the White House complete with towels embroidered “I slept in the Lincoln Bedroom.”
Indeed, Washingtonians will scarcely be able to avoid all things Lincoln. Among the other promotions scheduled: The Willard Intercontinental Washington is planning a recreation of his Second Inaugural Ball, complete with the food and drinks served that day in 1865. The Fairmont Hotel will greet guests with a gift of Lincoln Logs, Hanks Oyster Bar will serve Abe’s favorite dish of scalloped oysters and Mie N Yu will pour an “Abe-hat-tan” cocktail, served with Bourbon from his home state of Kentucky.
