Jill Biden: ‘Maybe America missed a great opportunity’

It was America that lost out when Vice President Joe Biden decided not to run for president this year, his wife Jill Biden said Friday.
“Well, you know, I say every day, I really do feel that Joe would’ve made a great president,” she said in an interview with NBC’s “Today.”

She added that her husband “has the character to be commander in chief.

“I think that he’s a convener. I think that one of his strengths is compromise. And so I feel, you know, maybe America missed an opportunity. I don’t know. It just wasn’t the right time,” she said.

Vice President Biden decided last October not to launch a 2016 campaign after his son Beau died of brain cancer. He has been dedicating his final year in office to finding a cure for cancer.
