Trump calls Jeb a cure for insomnia

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump is on a mission to help voters who’ve grown tired of establishment candidates get a good night’s sleep.

His solution? “Jeb!”

Trump’s incessant attacks on former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush continued Tuesday with an Instagram video advertising Bush as a panacea for insomnia-ridden Americans.

The 15-second video posted to Trump’s account with the caption “Wake up, Jeb supporters” is made to look like an infomercial and features a clip of Bush speaking to voters about health savings accounts (HSAs) while a woman dozes off just behind the White House hopeful.

Meanwhile, a soothing male voice asks viewers if they’ve had trouble sleeping or need some “low energy” — a play on Trump’s favorite way of describing his GOP foe.

“Jeb, for all your sleeping needs,” the screen reads, before fading to Trump’s campaign slogan.

The billionaire’s latest web-based attack ad comes as the Bush campaign launches its first $500,000 TV buy. The ad features the former governor touting his conservative résumé and includes a subliminal attack against Trump.

“If you want more D.C. politicians or more self-promoters, you’ve got options,” Bush says in his ad, which began airing in Boston and New Hampshire on Tuesday.

In just over a week, the two GOP contenders will face off in-person at the second Republican debate in Simi Valley, Calif. Bush currently trails the real estate mogul by nearly 20 points among Republican primary voters nationwide, according to the latest RealClearPolitics’ polling average.
