An Israeli daily newspaper will feature an interview with Donald Trump in its Friday edition. Israel Hayom, owned by American business magnate and casino owner Sheldon Adelson, previewed the cover of the publication on Twitter late Thursday.
“I am Israel’s biggest friend,” Trump, the self-funded billionaire GOP front-runner, told a reporter for the paper, according to a translation of the headline.

While campaigning in Nevada this week, Trump also told correspondent Boaz Bismuth if he is elected to Oval Office, Israel will have a “true friend in the White House.” President Obama has been criticized by pro-Israel groups for not taking a strong stance defending Israel and making a deal with Iran about its nuclear weapons.
“It’s absurd, the worst thing that’s happened to Israel [ever],” Trump said about the Iran deal, which Obama negotiated last year.
The Manhattan business mogul also offered a critique of President Obama’s job performance over the past seven years, calling him the “worst president for Israel in history,” adding that “all of Netanyahu’s claims are correct, his frustration is justified.”
Adelson, a former Democrat-turned-Republican, was listed by Forbes in 2015 as one of the top 20 richest individuals in the world. He has funded a number of Republican presidential candidates in the election this year, but has not endorsed anyone.
