Pro-Bush super PAC’s new ad: Bush is ‘tough enough’

A super PAC supporting Jeb Bush’s presidential campaign unveiled a new ad on Thursday promoting the former governor as “tough enough.” Right to Rise’s ad highlights Bush’s conflict with Donald Trump during Tuesday night’s GOP presidential debate.

“One candidate tough enough to take on the bully,” a narrator says as the ad shows Bush in a split-screen with Trump from the debate. “One candidate tough enough to take on [the Islamic State]. Jeb will destroy ISIS and keep America safe.”

The ad closes with the narrator saying “tested and proven leadership matters.”

Right to Rise has already aired ads that aggressively attack Bush’s opponents, namely Trump and Sens. Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio. The super PAC, which boasts a $100 million war chest, has begun airing that attack in the early nominating states of Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada. The pro-Bush super PAC reportedly spent $39 million in independent expenditures through Dec. 4, according to the Sunlight Foundation.

But the big bucks do not seem to have helped Bush thus far, as he polls at 4 percent in RealClearPolitics’ average of national polls. Bush ranks fourth in the Washington Examiner‘s newest GOP presidential power rankings.
