Muriel Bowser continues to lead the fundraising race in the District of Columbia Ward 4 council race, raising more than $84,000 between March 11 and April 23, according to reports filed with the Office of Campaign Finance. With just six days left before the election, Bowser, who Mayor Adrian Fenty endorsed for the seat he vacated in January, had more than $174,000 to spend.
Michael Brown, considered Bowser’s closest competitor, reported raising more than $52,000 during the same period. He had more than $12,000 left to spend. Brown said Tuesday that he had commitments for an additional $60,000.
Leading Ward 7 candidate Yvette Alexander had more than $48,000 on hand. Victor Vandell followed close behind with $39,000.
