Anyone who gets stuck inside with the kids during the holidays should feel free to sing and dance to several government songs about healthy food, the U.S. Department of Agriculture recommended this week.
USDA’s MyPlate division provided a link to several videos and songs people can play online to lighten up any holiday gathering with family and friends.

One of the songs is “Alive With Five Groups,” which lets kids jump around and sing about the five food groups.
“A banana is a fruit, broccoli is a veggie, rice is a grain, chicken is a protein,” the song instructs. “Milk is dairy, and now we got five. We’re gonna feel our best, we’re gonna feel alive.”
Another, “Do Your Body Right,” says you’ll “make your day a better day” if you “eat foods in a smarter way.” Among other things, the song encourages people not to eat sugary cereals.
A third song called “Do and Be” says “nutrients are good for me, some help me do and some help me be.”
None of the songs are very long, however, which leaves open the chance you might still be bored. In that case, USDA recommends a push-up contest with the kids.
