Former Democratic Georgia Sen. Sam Nunn is known for his knowledge of nuclear weapons, not for his expertise in pop culture, but he gave the Tiger Woods topic a stab.
“I was very pleased with the way he handled himself overall — with a couple of minor exceptions,” Nunn, an avid golfer, told the Daily Beast’s Lloyd Grove on Monday in an interview supposedly focused on nukes.
Forget something? While Nunn made no mention of betrayed wife Elin, he did say he was disappointed when Woods missed a shot at the Masters Tournament and cursed on national television.
“I think Tiger’s a hero to millions of young people all over the globe,” said Nunn, who attended the weekend tournament at Augusta National. “And that’s an obligation that he has to internalize and understand and take seriously — and I believe he’s moved in that direction.”
