Nationals Park got its first look at the movie business Monday afternoon as the stadium hosted a casting call for extras in the upcoming Reese Witherspoon/Owen Wilson flick, “How Do You Know?” In the film, Wilson plays a Nats reliever who competes with Paul Rudd for Witherspoon’s affections.
Season ticket holders had first crack at Monday’s open call, and they may get a shot at screen time later this month. NBC 4 reports that filming at the park will take place in two weeks.
Meanwhile back in Los Angeles, Witherspoon has been playing softball with a trainer to prep for her upcoming role. And it sounds like she will be putting those new skills to use. A casting call for the film went out Monday for female softball players, age 20-26, that are “able to play softball extremely well.”
It’s not Wilson’s first film set at least partly in D.C. “Wedding Crashers” was famously filmed in Georgetown and at the Eastern Shore home now owned by David and Katherine Bradley.
