Donald Trump has a lady problem: 70 percent of U.S. women view him unfavorably, according to a new poll.
And that number continues to grow steadily month-to-month, Gallup’s latest daily tracking poll reveals. For example, in July 2015, just 58 percent of women had an unfavorable opinion of Trump. That number jumped to 62 percent in December and 5 more points to 69 percent in February.
Just 23 percent of women had a favorable opinion of the Republican presidential frontrunner last month.
Men also give Trump a negative rating, which rose over the last month to 58 percent unfavorable and 36 percent positive. His gender gap is larger than any other major candidate’s, Gallup said.
Since last year, Trump’s net favorable rating among all adults has worsened, from -17 in August to -35 in March.
When it comes to Trump and Republican-leaning women, the gap between favorable and unfavorable, 49-46, is much smaller. Eight-nine percent of women identifying as Democrat or Democrat-leaning have an unfavorable view of Trump.
The results are based on more than 3,600 telephone interviews conducted in March, which carries a margin of error of plus or minus 2 percentage points.
