Fairey’s not done boosting candidates

Looks like President Barack Obama’s not the only political type to get the Shepard Fairey treatment. You’ll recall the Los Angles-based artist created the iconic “HOPE” poster that become a signature of Obama’s presidential run in 2008.

Well, some other political types are now going under Fairey’s paintbrush: Tiffany Tupper, Raul De Jesus, Ytit Chauhan and George Monger. Who are they? They are candidates for office featured in Jason Pollock’s new documentary, “The Youngest Candidate.” The film highlights 18-year-olds running for various offices around the country.

Pollock got Fairey to do portraits of the four youths and the renderings are prominently featured on the movie’s Web site, as well as on Pollock’s business card for the film.

“HOPE,” after all, springs eternal.
