CNN draws 11.9 million to 12th debate

CNN drew 11.9 million viewers to the 12th debate of the Republican presidential primary, the lowest viewership the network has seen since the first debate it hosted in September.

CNN’s numbers have faded since last year, a sign voters, like Donald Trump, might be tiring of them. The Thursday night debate was also noted for its lack of fighting between the candidates.

CNN’s September debate drew 23 million people, it’s December debate drew 18.2 million, and its debate in February drew 14.5 million.

The only debate with fewer viewers was the one hosted by Fox Business, which drew 11.1 million in January.

CNN’s 11.9 million viewers, which is a preliminary number provided by ratings tracker Nielsen, is half of the total audience Fox News attracted with the first debate of the primary in August 2015.
